He leaves behind six (6) sisters: Cordelia Swannigan (Memphis, TN), Cavella (Sammy) Lewis of San Antonio TX, Coletta (Alex) Triplett of West Memphis AR, Patricia Swannigan-Cherry, Conjai Swannigan of Milwaukee WI, and Lavonzella Swannigan of Memphis, TN.
He especially liked spaghetti, all types of breakfast foods, pizza, pinto, northern beans and black-eyed peas. He loved dark sodas and all kinds of sweets.
Norvin leaves behind his mother (Joyce Harris) and father (Vonzell Swanigan - deceased)
He was often quiet and stayed to himself, if asked a question, his response was usually one word. He would often sit in the kitchen listening to 95.7 Hallelujah FM, sometimes singing but mostly praying especially on Dialysis days of Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
He loved sitting in his lift chair, sometimes rocking, eating snacks and watching all kinds of movies, such as westerns, comedies, horror, mystery, etc.
Norvin and our mom had a special relationship, they took care of each other physically (when he was working), financially and emotionally. They were in a bad car accident and ended up in the hospital for one month together before returning home, where mom continued his care up until his death day. If asked to contribute to a gift for mom, he wouldn't hesitate to be the first to give, (He'd say what you need? Then OK).
All Tyler Perry movies and plays. Gunsmoke, Karate movies and sometimes he would just scroll the channels until he came upon something interesting to him.
He helped raised two sons Michael and Luke Hurst (Sadie) of Memphis, TN
Grandmother (Mary L. Booker), Aunts (Patricia A, Swannigan and Linda Halbert), Uncles (Matthew Swannigan Jr., Algie Booker), Step father (James Harris III).
Auntie Gwendolyn Booker and Pearline Washburn of Memphis, TN. Uncle Melvin Halbert of Winder, GA. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and especially his best friend Darryl Braxton.
20 years at Scruggs Equipment Company of Memphis, TN as a Mechanic and Welder.
