Norman was a lover of working with his hands. He enjoyed being in his gardens, and building things for his wife, and he also loved building his train tables. He also enjoyed play cards with his family and close friends.
Norman enjoyed most food, but he had a sweet tooth.
Norman enjoyed a variety of music from country of the 90s to Oldies of 50s to 70s
He was a retired employee of 33 years to Landers. He was a member of the Handyman Association.
Norman was an affectionate, and hardworking individual. He was dedicated to his Family whose needs came before his own.
Norman enjoyed going on vacations with his wife Bonnie, but he found the most comfort right at home with his family.
Norman was a lover of his Westerns, his cartoons; Looney Tunes, and Flintstones.
Norman was a fan of Football ( Buffalo Bills) Also loved his baseball ( NY Mets, NY Yankees, and Atlanta Braves) He was also a member of a bowling team for many years.
Norman was born on April 19th, 1943; to Mother Dorothy Flemming who passed in 1999, and father Norman Alderman SR. Who passed in 2013.
Norman grew up with six siblings. He is predeceased by his oldest sister Dottie Standish, and younger brother James Alderman, who sadly passed away in Vietnam. Norman is survived by his brothers Richard, and John Alderman. He is also survived by sisters Jean Holmberg, and Cheri Matthews. Norman is also survived by brother in law Glenn Standish. Norman had a long loving relationship with his Uncle Harold Flemming who he is also predeceased by.
On August 12th, 1967 Norman married loving wife Bonnie Hare. Who passed in 2022. They were married for 54 years.
Norman and Bonnie had 2 daughters together. Norman is predeceased by oldest Daughter Candy Harder-Alderman, and survived by youngest daughter Ginger Davis-Alderman.
Norman is also survived by his 7 Grandchildren: Stephanie Austin, Russell Harder JR, William Harder, Tiffany Vasquez, Thomas Gumaer JR, Jenna Gumaer, and Diamond Gumaer. He is also survived by his 10 great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Norman is also survived by Special close family friends; Tom and Shirley Savage, Debbie Stevens, Joy Davis, Tammy Darrow, and predeceased by close personal friends Danny Davis, Wayne Darrow.
As the years progressed Norman was a survivor of Colon Cancer, and had a long battle with MS. MS featured many ups and downs for Norman. Then the back-to-back loss of his wife and daughter added such sadness to his heart. Now he rests in the arms of our Lord, and reunited with the ones he missed so dearly. No more pain and no more sorrow. He will always be with us and he will be missed by great measure.
Norman C. Alderman Jr., born on April 19, 1943, in Binghamton, NY, passed away on August 15, 2024, in the same town where he spent most of his life. A devoted family man, Norman was a loving husband to his late wife, Bonnie Hare, with whom he shared 54 wonderful years of marriage before her passing in 2022. Together, they raised two daughters, Candy Harder-Alderman and Ginger Davis-Alderman, the latter of whom survives him.
Norman was a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren: Stephanie Austin, Russell Harder Jr., William Harder, Tiffany Vasquez, Thomas Gumaer Jr., Jenna Gumaer, and Diamond Gumaer. He also cherished his ten great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was born to Dorothy Flemming and Norman Alderman Sr., both of whom predeceased him. Norman dedicated 33 years of his career to Landers and was an active member of the Handyman Association. He enjoyed working with his hands, whether in his gardens, building projects for Bonnie, or constructing intricate train tables. His passion for family was evident in his love for playing cards with friends and relatives.
A fan of various music genres, Norman found joy in 90's country and the Oldies from the 50s to 70s. He had a fondness for food, particularly desserts, and loved watching his favorite TV shows, including Westerns and cartoons like Looney Tunes and The Flintstones. He was also a devoted sports fan, supporting teams such as the Buffalo Bills, NY Mets, NY Yankees, and Atlanta Braves, and enjoyed many years on a bowling team.
In his final years, Norman bravely battled colon cancer and multiple sclerosis, enduring significant challenges. The loss of both his wife and daughter weighed heavily on his heart, but he maintained his affectionate nature and dedication to family. Now, he rests in the arms of the Lord, reunited with those he cherished, free from pain and sorrow. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
