Obituary

In Loving Memory of Nina Hoffpauir
June 7, 1941 – April 23, 2025

Nina Hoffpauir, remembered for her grace, strength, and sparkling smile.

Nina Hoffpauir, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2025, in Macon, Georgia, at the age of 83. Born on June 7, 1941, in Tennessee, Nina lived a life full of warmth, quiet strength, and deep devotion to her family.

She was known for her skilled work at Chrome Specialties—a craft she poured her heart into. Through it, she touched many lives with her creativity and care. A proud and loyal Dallas Cowboys fan, Nina cheered on her team with passion and heart, always ready for game day.

Nina was preceded in death by her son, George D. Horton; her granddaughter, Whitney L. Horton; and her brothers, Bobby Gene Sanders and William Sanders. Their memories live on in the hearts of those who loved them.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Paul Hoffpauir; her children, Chuck Horton (Laura Horton) and Patty Allen (Keith Allen); and her daughter-in-law, Azelma Began Horton, who all carry forward her legacy of resilience and love. Her memory is also cherished by her grandchildren—Trent Haines (Amanda Haines), Tiffany Cox (Brenton Cox), and Blake Horton—and her great-grandchildren: Raelynn Cox, Waylon Haines, Kai Scullin, Beau Cox, Adalyn Cox, and Maverik Cox, each of whom brought immense joy to her life.

Nina also leaves behind her dear cousins, Rose Steptoe and Kim Steptoe, who remained close to her throughout her life.
Nina’s legacy will live on in the stories told, the recipes shared, Sunday football traditions, and the lives she helped shape.
A private service will be held by the family.
