Nikita Tobbcca James was born on September 18, 1983, in New Orleans, Louisiana to the union of Jarrick Augustine and Latangelia George. She was the Oldest of seven children born to this union. She departed this earthly life at 8:17 PM on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at Iberia Medical Center. “Nikki,” as she was affectionately known was a very well-known person who had a talent to make you laugh, knew everything, never met a stranger, and had a charming way of getting you to do anything she asked. She was baptized by the late Rev. C.V. Jackson and was a member of Star Pilgrim Baptist Church. She was a “2001” graduate of New Iberia Senior High and “2006” graduate of University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She graduated college with Master’s Of Science in Nursing (MSN). She was a devoted Director of Nursing (DON) at Belle Teche Nursing & Rehabilitation. She will be missed greatly by everyone who loved her. She leaves to cherish her fond memories to her husband Terry James of New Iberia, LA: Six children: Terry “TJ” (Monique) James, Aleeyah “Maw” James, Tyrone “Tonka” James, Joshua “J-Dubb” (Amanda) James, Jarrick “Joe Jack” James of New Iberia, LA, and Chulisa “Nip” (Odiah) Nwaezeapu of Lafayette, LA; a bonus daughter: Althea (Kevin) Layne of New Iberia, LA; one grandchild: Onyeka “Buns” Nwaezeapu of Lafayette, LA; three brothers: John (Frankie) George and Clifford George both of New Iberia, LA, and Kenneth (Emma) George, Sr. of Orange, TX; Three sisters: Jacolby (Kenny) George Davis of Terre Haute, IN, Jamasha (Justin) Nathan of Houston, TX, and Kinshota (Kevin) Jones of Paris, IL; her Godchildren, a host of nephews, nieces, and other dear relatives and special friends. She is preceded in death by her daughter Tyesha James and one brother Jamie George.
