He inherited a love for an older generation of country music, including Bocephus himself. He fused this with tastes of 90s and early 2000s hip hop.

Nicholas was a gifted artist. He could create impressive portraits of both people and automobiles with charcoal and pencils. He also enjoyed model cars.

Nicholas was a proud parent of a beautiful and talented daughter, Alexis. Til the day he passed, he kept a framed photo of her on his bedside table.

He is survived by his daughter Alexis Fontenot of Houston, TX; mother Elizabeth Hammill of Lafayette, LA; sister Holly Palombo and husband Doug of Lafayette; brother Michael Fontenot Jr. of Carnie, NE; sister Candie Sutherland and husband Clayton of Houston, TX; brother Connor Hammill of Lafayette; and sister Isabella Hammill of Lafayette; stepmother Angela Cormier of Carencro; as well as nieces  Audrey and Adele Palombo; and nephews Henri, Ellis, and Truitt Sutherland. He is preceded in death by his father Michael Fontenot, paternal grandparents Herman and Etella Fontenot, maternal grandmother Gloria Chapman, uncle Emery Ortego Jr., and cousin Angenette Berzas.
