Nicholas Pappas, 77, passed away on March 29, 2025.
Born on August 4, 1947, in Heraklion, Crete, Greece, Nicholas immigrated to the United States as a young man in search of opportunity. Through hard work, faith, and quiet determination, he built a life he was proud of. For more than 40 years, he worked as a licensed electrician — the kind of man who believed if something was worth doing, it was worth doing right.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary, with whom he shared many devoted years. Though they had no children of their own, Nicholas played an important role in the lives of his many nieces and nephews, all of whom loved and respected him deeply.
A devout Orthodox Christian, Nicholas lived his faith through quiet action. He was humble, dependable, and always willing to lend a hand. Whether it was helping someone with a home repair or simply showing up when it mattered, he never needed recognition — he just believed it was the right thing to do.
He will be remembered as hardworking and practical, someone who was always doing something, always fixing, always helping — and never asking for anything in return. His presence was steady, his values strong, and his love for family unwavering.
He is survived by a large extended family who will carry his memory forward in the everyday things — in the sound of a radio playing softly in the garage, in the smell of black coffee, and in the quiet reliability of someone who always showed up.
A private memorial will be held at his Orthodox parish. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you take a moment to help someone in need, just as Nicholas would have done.
We'll plant real trees for you in Nicholas's memory and display your contribution forever.
