Life Reflection
Bishop Nelson Hurn Jr. was born on July 11, 1933. He was one of eleven children.
Born to Minnie and Nelson Hurn. His father, mother, First Wife (Shirley Hurn) and eldest son Lanelle Hurn preceded him in death.
During his childhood, he didn’t know anything about the Lord or the Salvation Plan. All he knew was that there was going to be a Judgement Day.
As he grew older, he was introduced to the Lord and converted. He joined the Nazarene Church and was called to preach in the late 50’s. The Nazarene was impressed by his knowledge and understanding of God Words despite him never receiving any formal church. He would often say he taught by the Holy Spirit like Apostle Paul.
He received a vision from God telling him he was to go back and tell his family about the God that had saved him. And that was exactly what he did. Some laughed at him and called him crazy but others followed him
He founded Bible Way Church of the Nazarene but in the late 2000s he God spoke to him and told him to become non denominational church. He then, changed the name to Bible Way Fellowship Church of the Living God. This name was perfect since their intentions were all salvation and sinners being delivered from sins. To serve a Living God.
He continue to preach the word of God for over 30 years. Under his leadership he was able to see three pastor produce who took over for him after he retired.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Gladys; his 9 children and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren, and his loving church Family at Bibleway Fellowship Church of the Living God.
