Obituary

Nancy Kirby Fox, born on January 25, 1948, in Clarksburg, WV, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2024, in Simpsonville, SC. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend, whose passion for life touched everyone she met.

Nancy graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from Fairmont College, which paved the way for her impactful career as a social worker dedicated to assisting abused and battered women. Her commitment to helping others extended beyond her profession; she was an adoptive mother to two daughters, Leslie Fox and Mary Fox, providing them with love, support, and a nurturing home. Nancy cherished her role as a grandmother to Brynn and Buckley and adored spending time with her family, particularly with her late husband, Michael Fox, who passed away in 2015.

Known for her love of sitting by the pool with a glass of wine, Nancy also delighted in indulging in cheese steak hoagies and West Virginia's famous pepperoni rolls. A fan of WVU football, she embodied the spirit of her West Virginia roots. Nancy was a woman of strong convictions, often described as stubborn yet thrifty, with a knack for enjoying life wherever she was.

Throughout her life, Nancy remained committed to giving back to her community, regularly donating to the Police and Fire Departments and the humane society. She volunteered for Meals on Wheels, embodying her belief in creating memories and never looking back. Raised in the Catholic faith, she embraced her husband's Lutheran beliefs after moving to Simpsonville.

Nancy is survived by her daughter Leslie, her two brothers, Billy and Jimmy May, as well as her beloved grandchildren. She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and dedication to family and community, and she will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.
