United States Army WW II veteran, served in Germany and France
Retired from Lynchburg Foundry after 35 years of service as a machinist
Avid outdoorsman, loved working on lawnmowers in his workshop, and working in his garden
Preceded in death by his wife Catherine Dunn Henson and son Harry "Lee" Henson, survived by three daughters, two stepchildren, a brother, 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, and 5 step-great-grandchildren
Graveside service conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 19, 2010, in the mausoleum chapel, in Fort Hill Memorial Park, with military honors rendered by American Legion Post 16
May be made in lieu of flowers to Virginia Veterans Care Center
The family would like to thank Mr. Henson's nurse, Heather, at Virginia Veterans Care Center, and to his nurse, Marcie, at Gentle Shepherd Hospice, for the care given to their father
