Obituary

Obituary for Moses Wamala

August 8, 1968 — February 12, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Moses Wamala, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, who left this world on February 12, 2024, at the age of 55. Moses was born on August 8, 1968, in Kampala, Uganda, to Sadio Wamala and Magret Nakello, and he lived a life that embodied love, dedication, and family values.

Moses grew up in Uganda, where he completed his education at Entebbe Secondary School. His thirst for knowledge and desire for a better life led him to move to Boston, where he obtained his Commercial Driver's License (CDL). With a strong work ethic, Moses dedicated 18 years of his life to being a CDL A Class Driver for Amazon, a role that allowed him to support his family while doing what he loved—driving.

In 1993, Moses married the love of his life, Saidat Namuyanja. Their union was a testament to the love they shared and the family they built together. Moses was a devoted husband who cherished Saidat deeply, and in his own words, he expressed heartfelt gratitude for her unwavering love and support throughout their years together.

Moses was a proud father, a role he took seriously. He is survived by his children—twin sons Acram and Axam Wamala, and daughters Sadie Wamala and Adam-Josiah Selly. He was a hands-on father, always encouraging and supporting his children's dreams and aspirations. His commitment to their success was unwavering, and he often said that nothing brought him greater joy than watching his children thrive.

Moses's strong bond with his family extended beyond his immediate household. He is also survived by his brothers, Yusuf Wamala and Hamza Wamala, as well as his beloved siblings and extended family members, who will undoubtedly feel the weight of his absence. He was preceded in death by his brother, Yusuf Wamala.

Moses was known for his good nature and loving spirit. He was a fun-loving person who enjoyed joking around, and his laughter filled every room he entered. His love for cars and trucks, combined with his skills as a mechanic, made him a go-to person for family and friends alike. He stayed informed about world events, often sharing his insights and engaging in thoughtful discussions with those around him.

Moses was an active member of the Ugandan Muslim Kamala community, where he forged many lasting friendships and connections. He was a man close to God, whose faith guided him in all aspects of his life.

His funeral will be held on March 1, 2024, at 1:00 PM in Kalungu District, Bukomansimbi Village. Friends and family are invited to celebrate the life of this remarkable man, whose legacy of love and devotion will carry on through his children and all who knew him.

As we say goodbye to Moses Wamala, we reflect on the profound impact he had on our lives. His love for his family, his dedication to his work, and his joyful spirit will always be remembered. He truly was the definition of a family man.

To his beloved wife, Saidat, we thank you for being the rock that supported him through thick and thin. And to his sons, Acram and Axam, we hope you continue to strive for excellence in school, knowing that your father's spirit will always be with you.

Rest in peace, dear Moses. You will be deeply missed, but your legacy of love and strength will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know you.
