Obituary

Mohnit Kanwar, born on September 10, 1999, in Delhi, India, passed away on December 29, 2024, in Abbotsford, BC, Canada. Mohnit, lovingly known as Mo, was a dedicated Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, who was known for his commitment to helping others, but also his remarkable ability to perfect the wheel fitment on his cars. He was not only skilled in his trade but also a caring and charismatic person who always prioritized the well-being of others.

Mohnit had a passion for working on cars with his friends, often sharing laughs and creating memories in the garage as he worked on various projects. Among his favorite pastimes, he enjoyed indulging in Domino's pepperoni pizza, savouring chocolate ice cream, and watching episodes of "How I Met Your Mother." He loved listening to Drake, whose music often accompanied him on his adventures.

A devoted family member, Mohnit cherished his time with his parents, Manishkesh and Sheetal, as well as his brother, Krishiv. His family was his greatest treasure and he went to great lengths to ensure their happiness and comfort, even during challenging times. His selflessness was evident through the comfort and care he provided his family by always putting their feelings above his own.

Mohnit had a deep love for life, evident in his travels to Australia, which he considered his favorite destination. Of all the places in the world, he was fondest of Calgary, which he called HOME. He was also an avid soccer player who loved the outdoors and never missed a chance to go on an adventure. On his adventures, he never forgot to take his beloved pet cat Kairo; together they experienced all of life's wonders.

His caring nature extended beyond his family; Mohnit was an active member of the car community and touched the lives of many with his thoughtfulness and enthusiasm. Those who knew him admired his motto, “It is what it is, I drive a ducaatiii, Yeeww,” reflecting his light-hearted spirit.

One of Mohnit's dreams included owning a big farm where he could care for horses, dogs, cats and grow blueberries. All while having a pet monkey as his ranch hand and a BMW M3 Competition parked out front.

Mohnit Kanwar is survived by his loving parents and brother Krish, who will carry his memory in their hearts forever. His impact on the lives of those around him will not be forgotten, as he leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and unwavering support for his family and friends.
