Mindy Lynn Gifford, born on June 1, 1977, in Kalamazoo, MI, passed away on April 1, 2024, in her hometown. Mindy was known for her adventurous spirit and unique sense of humor.
Throughout her life, Mindy had a passion for discovering new places to cut hair, which she considered as one of her favorite hobbies. She also had an interesting taste in food, with mountain oysters being her favorite. When it came to music, Mindy had a soft spot for Peaches & Herb and their soulful tunes.
Mindy had a vivacious personality and loved to stir up drama wherever she went. She had a knack for finding herself in peculiar situations, like auditioning for a lead role in Ratatouille, convinced she had the perfect face for it. Her favorite place in the world was her stolen tent, where she found solace and adventure.
Mork & Mindy was her go-to TV show, and she had a deep appreciation for water sports. Mindy had a few nicknames, and Rat Face was one that stuck around.
Professionally, Mindy cheated her way through cosmetology school, leaving her mark in the world of hairdressing. She was proud of winning runner up in the "Hoe Off" on Washington Ave, showcasing her unique talents.
Mindy was married to Tony Rupe, who managed to survive her energetic presence. They had three boys, although two of them didn't have the warmest relationship with their mother. Mindy is survived by a large and loving family.
Her defining personality traits included being mousy, musty, overzealous, and occasionally mean-spirited towards children and puppies. Mindy had a knack for creating memorable moments, like crafting a puppet out of her own pubic hair.
While Mindy may not have always seen eye to eye with everyone, she left an impact on those around her, often overstepping her authority. She was involved with various community organizations, notably embracing her role as a "bottom bitch" and her love of incest with her brother Rob.
