Micheal Richard Jones, also known as Ricky, passed away on March 7, 2024, at the age of 21. He was born on June 21, 2002, in Chicago Heights, IL, and most recently lived in Lafayette, LA. Ricky had a vibrant personality and a zest for life.
Ricky had a passion for sports and enjoyed spending time with his friends, indulging in drinks and cigarettes. He found solace in watching his favorite TV show, Blacklist, on Netflix while sipping a cold 40. He had a particular fondness for mac and yams, always embracing the side dishes.
As a true Chicagoan, Ricky was devoted to his favorite rappers G Herbo and Lil Durk. He played football throughout his high school career, with many mistaking him for an older student due to his mature appearance. Ricky was a loving family man, cherishing his wife, Sheryl Jones, and their two children, Shay and Mikayla. He considered them his world.
Working as a project manager for a family-owned construction company, Ricky had a motto he lived by: "If it don't make money, it don't make sense!" However, his proudest accomplishment was his family, whom he loved unconditionally.
Ricky was known for his charm and kind heart. He was both a sweetheart and a savage, leaving a lasting impact on those around him. He actively contributed to his community, organizing food pantries and hosting events for the less fortunate. Ricky had a genuine desire to help others and give back.
Preceded in death by his parents, Diana and Evan Jones, Ricky leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion. He will be deeply missed by his wife, children, and all who knew him.
Rest in peace, Ricky, as your spirit lives on in the memories of those whose lives you touched.
