My dad was nothing short of a genius. He always had a way of being able to make something out of nothing. Determined, steadfast, an iron will, courageous, honorable, loyal to a T, and an intellect to match the congregation of the world’s brilliant minds. In life such qualities can be difficult for the average person to even possess one of these qualities let alone all of them. Characteristics like these separate a person from the pack. Not everyone can handle the fiery nature of Scandinavian. Those that came to know my father were fortunate enough to his selfless, generous, and endearing person he was.
Simple it’s something I wish I had said more in fact. “I love you.” Don’t let pride or discomfort stop you from saying the things you should have said or the things you wish you had said. Something as simple as these 3 words will echo an eternity.
Alaska always had a hold of him. Specifically East river in Yakutat.

This is a depression arena poem that has been used for several generations of my kin, now and the legacy continues in honor of him, our ancestors of the past, and for the sorrowful future when another one of us goes to meet up with him on the other side.

My dad was a proud humble man who when even at his worst never asked for anything. Even though we would have all loved to give him the money he desperately needed he wouldn’t ask knowing he wouldn’t be able to pay it back before the end. After nearly 15 years battling cancer his financial situation was in the red. He passed on before he could get any financial aid. His estate is left in need of repairs, facing foreclosure, and legal council is mandated for Probate Court. He didn’t ask for money so neither will I. But if others want to donate so that we can celebrate his life and honor his memory that would be very much appreciated and I would truly be grateful.
