Obituary

Michael James Vickerman, Sr., a beloved resident of Spokane, WA, passed away peacefully at an undisclosed date. He was born on August 24, 1942, in Spokane, WA, and remained a proud resident of his hometown throughout his life.

Mike had a zest for life and enjoyed various hobbies. He loved spending time on the golf course, cruising in his Corvette, boating on serene blue lakes, exploring in his RV, and trying his luck in Las Vegas. Neil Diamond's music was always a favorite of his, providing the soundtrack to many cherished memories.

As a legacy WSU student and avid and loyal Cougar, Mike had an enthusiasm and love for college football. He pursued his own career path, however, his proudest accomplishments were the successful lives and careers of his three children and the achievements of his seven grandchildren, three of whom also graduated from WSU, 3 others also college graduates and his youngest currently a busy High Schooler.

In 2002, Mike married the love of his life, Denise, and together they created a life filled with love and adventure. Michael's favorite place in the world was Priest Lake, a sanctuary where he found solace and joy.

Throughout his career, Michael held various professions that showcased his diverse skill set. He served as SeaFirst Assistant Vice President at Lake Forest Park and Yakima, owned the Village Inn pizza parlor in Spokane Valley, worked as a realtor and broker with Better Homes & Gardens, and dedicated his expertise to claims adjusting for ServPro SW Spokane before retiring in 2004.

A true enthusiast, Mike built a boat in his garage, earning him the nickname "Noah" from his neighbors. He had a knack for buying and selling cars, boats, and RVs, always seeking new experiences and opportunities.

Mike was an active member of various community organizations and charities, including the Spokane JayCees, Lake City Rotary, Forest Park Merchants Association. He was SeaFirst Entertainment Chair, Chair of Manito Golf and Country Club Annual Pow-Wow in _________________ and a Vanessa Behan fundraising volunteer. In 2004, he proudly served as the 1st Gent of the Spokane Lilac Festival along side his wife Denise. He was also a member of the WSU Phi Delta Theta fraternity having been the pledge class President in 1960 and participated in the WSU ROTC program.

Michael James Vickerman, Sr. leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, loquaciousness and a zest for life. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Denise, his children Mike Jr., Andrea and Alicia and his 7 cherished grandchildren Andrew, Nick, Jake, Kate, Analese, Mirisa, and Jill.
