Michael James Mowry, 78, of Grayling passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 24th, 2025 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse MI after a long courageous battle with cancer. He was born July 1st 1946 in Knoxville TN, to the late James and Betsy Mowry.

In 1998, Micheal moved to Traverse MI where he met the love of his life, Michelle Newman. They enjoyed 20 years of marriage.

Micheal was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed spending time outdoors every chance he got. Even though he moved to MI years ago, he was still a great lover of the Tennessee Volunteers basketball team and never missed one of their games on TV.

Michael is proceeded in death by his parents James and Betsy Mowry. Loving wife, Michelle Mowry, Brother, Wesley Mowry(Michelle) and sister Angelina Prescott (John).

Micheal is survived by daughter, Amy Malicoat (Tony), sister in law, Michelle Mowry and brothers in law, John Prescott and Wayne Newman.

Per Michael's wishes all services are private and he will be cremated and laid to rest with his wife.
