Michael Duane Childress, also known as Young Mike, passed away on June 19, 2024, at the age of 56. He was born on June 1, 1968, in Los Angeles, CA, and had been residing there until his passing.

Michael had a deep love for spending time with his family and was known for his passion for the Los Angeles Lakers. He also enjoyed going to the movies and indulging in his favorite foods, such as enchiladas, food truck burritos, and home-cooked meals.

He was the beloved son of Betty Childress and John Childress Sr., and had six siblings: John Jr., Deborah, Donald, Kenneth, Tracy, and Cynthia. Michael took pride in his role as a Domestic Engineer and cherished his high school graduation as one of his proudest accomplishments.

Michael was married to his loving wife, Shireen Childress, and together they shared a beautiful blended family. Their children included daughters Michelle and Nakia Childress, as well as step-daughter Mercedes Spraggins. He was also blessed with several grandchildren, including Sean S., Semirah S., Antonio V., Mariah V., King B., Nyla Atkins, Miracle Cook, Semaj Wilson, and Malik Mason.

Throughout his life, Michael held strong Christian beliefs, which provided him with comfort and guidance.

Michael Duane Childress will be remembered for his love for family, his dedication as a Domestic Engineer, and his joyful spirit. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
