Michael Douglas Mattocks, known affectionately as Mike, passed away on September 15, 2024, at the age of 63. Born on May 18, 1961, in Lancaster, Virginia, he spent his final years in Newport News, Virginia.

Mike had a successful career in engineering at a shipyard, where he was respected for his expertise and dedication. He was a man of principle who often shared his wisdom with those around him, encouraging his loved ones to learn from his experiences with sayings such as, “Don’t make the same mistakes I made in life” and “Be someone better than me.”
