Michael A. Jackson, affectionately known as Mike, passed away on August 24, 2024, at the age of 62. Born on March 21, 1962, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Mike spent much of his life in Syracuse, New York, where he left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.
A devoted father to his five children—Deshaun, Kenyada, Tesha, Jarrod, and Adrionna—Mike was a source of inspiration and guidance. Deshaun, the eldest, inherited his father’s sharp business sense, while Kenyada was known for her fearless spirit. Tesha’s kindness resonated with all, and Jarrod showcased the handyman skills he learned from Mike. Adrionna, the youngest, brought sweetness and joy to the family.
Professionally, Mike made his mark in the construction industry, known for his sharp dressing and artistic flair. A true musician at heart, he found his favorite place on stage, passionately playing the drums and sharing his love for music with friends and family. Weekends were often spent at the race track or enjoying fishing trips with his closest friends, where his humor and joyful spirit shone through.
Mike's defining personality traits included his kindness, humor, and generosity. Known as a jokester, he had a talent for bestowing playful nicknames, turning even the simplest moments into cherished memories. He was quick to lend a helping hand, whether it was giving away his clothes or fixing anything in need of repair, transforming dingy spaces into beautiful retreats.
He is survived by three sisters and four brothers, who will forever remember his warm heart and infectious laughter. Mike's legacy of love, generosity, and music will continue to resonate within the hearts of his ten grandchildren, each of whom carries a piece of him with them.
In honoring Mike’s memory, those who knew him are encouraged to celebrate his life by sharing stories, laughter, and love, just as he would have wanted.
We'll plant real trees for you in Michael's memory and display your contribution forever.
