Melissa Morgan Day, born on May 10, 1949, in Jacksonville, Florida, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on October 5, 2024, in Rockledge, Florida.

Melissa dedicated over 30 years of her life to Blue Cross Blue Shield, where she earned the respect and admiration of her colleagues before happily retiring.

Melissa was known as fiercely independent and stubborn, but that only added to her fiery charm as she loved having people depend on her. She loved to laugh, had a big heart, a passion for cooking, and took great joy in caring for others; friends and strangers alike.

Melissa is preceded in death by her loving husband William Day, parents James and Nadine Morgan, and brothers David and Danny Morgan. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Brandy (Amando) Gonzalez, her cherished grandchildren, Haley (Conan) Rees, Amando (Shelly) Gonzalez, Antonio Gonzalez, and Cristiano Gonzalez, and precious great-granddaughter Kinsley Gonzalez.

Melissa will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, and the love she shared with everyone around her. Her legacy of strength and determination will continue to inspire those who knew her.
