He attended Texas Southern University where he excelled academically upon his passing, pursuing a degree in Respiratory Therapy. Mekhi was not just a remarkable student; he was a compassionate listener, always offering a helping hand or a shoulder to lean on. His friends often described him as their ride or die, someone they could rely on during challenging times.

In addition to his studies, Mekhi was actively involved in campus life, participating in various organizations including basketball clubs and talent shows that promoted an active and inspiring lifestyle.
