-John 11:25-26

McGarland Walker VI, 24 of Rapid City, South Dakota, known to his loved ones as Mack. Gained his Wings into the Kingdom of Heaven on March 8, 2024. He was born in San Diego, California on March 12th of 1999. Mack was the beloved son of Cindy BoJack and McGarland Walker V. Mack leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion. He is survived by his wife, Serene; son, Alkai Walker; daughter, Shy'Heir Walker; parents, Cindy BoJack and Mack Walker; siblings, Angela Johnson, Alanna Walker, Alvin Smith, Eric Walker, Toni Coleman, Tomeika Walker, James Brantley and Nicholas Rios. Along with other amazing family members including nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and close friends.

Mack was born in California, and his family relocated when he was an adolescent to Hermosa, South Dakota. He was the youngest child of 8, raised in a strong Christian home. His mother Cindy would say he was the most mischievous one when he was younger, always keeping her on her toes by the stories he told or the situations he would put himself in. Mack's passion for sports began at an early age before he could walk bouncing a basketball, taking after this father. His passion for sports begin to advance more in elementary school, by playing on the school's local youth basketball team, causing his passion to continue growing throughout his life. Mack's passion in life was a powerful force in accomplishing anything he set his mind to.

Mack was one of a kind, he could walk into a room and light the entire room up. Mack, had a heart of gold that any one around him would feel his positive energy, and his caring loving spirit. You could not help but LOVE him. His smile, his laughter, his love will always have a special place in your heart.

Mack's proudest accomplishments in life revolved around his family. He cherished his role as a husband and father, finding immense joy in his children, Shy’Heir Tru Walker and Alkai Xion Walker. Along with marrying his wife, Serene, whom he met in the summer of 2020. After two years together, they exchanged vows on November 17th, 2022. Mack's love for his family was unparalleled, and he considered them his greatest achievement and motivated Mack to be a genuine family man of true integrity, hard work, and becoming closer to his Lord and Savior.

Known for his athleticism, Mack excelled in various sports throughout his life. From a young age, he showed great talent and passion for basketball and football. His dedication and hard work resulted in numerous awards and achievements during his high school years. In addition to his love for sports; one thing many people recount when they think of Mack, is his love for dancing and his spontaneous dance moves he would bring out wherever he went. Mack dedicated much of his time towards one of his many passions in music, focusing on "R&B Gospel"and spending time with family and friends.

Mack, will be remembered for his loving nature, infectious energy, and charismatic personality. He had the most down-to-earth yet outgoing personality with a natural charisma to make friends wherever he was. He was a man with a vibrant personality and an uncanny ability to articulate and describe things so well and often so humorously.  When he told his stories you were guaranteed to feel like you were actually there.  Whether his tales were truthful or far-fetched, it was impossible not to find some interest or burst out laughing; especially when you saw the “smirk” signaling he was trying to keep a straight face. He was always there to be a caring father and husband, a friend in times of need, and a helping hand to many. Mack's genuine integrity and love for his family, combined with his strong faith, just solidifies the reason that His impact will be forever felt by his family and friends, that love him dearly.  His sudden passing left an unfillable gap in the hearts of so many.  Although he was taken much too soon, Mack left a mark on this world and undoubtedly changed the lives of his family and friends for the better.

A Heart of Gold stopped beating. Two shining eyes at rest. We know you did your best, and now we have to Let God Do The Rest!! 🕊Rest In Love🕊

  • A celebration of life will be held privately for close family and friends.

"And I heard a voice from heaven saying, Write this: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on"

-Revelation 14:13
