Matthew was a beloved brother to Paula Smith, David Tacoma, Pat Tacoma, Shelly Rhodes, Candy Broughton, and Frank Smith.

Matthew had a passion for reading books and indulging in his favorite foods, which ranged from savory to sweet - he truly enjoyed everything! His taste in music was diverse, with Slayer and various other bands and artists filling his playlist. Football was his favorite sport, and he took great pleasure in cheering for his favorite teams.

Matthew's defining personality trait was his unwavering love for his family and friends. He cherished their company above all else. Although he didn't have a specific favorite place in the world, he found solace in having a place to call his own.
