Married Glenn Hillhouse Montgomery MD on September 6, 1957 at the Chapel in the Pines Presbyterian Church in Bluff Park. Member of Civiettes and a long-time member of the Jefferson County Alliance and many other service organizations in Birmingham. Member of the Ensley Highlands Presbyterian Church and South Highland Presbyterian Church since 1961. Preceded in death by her parents, Archie Clifton Goggans Sr., Cora Lee Ensley Goggans, three half-brothers, John William Harrelson Sr., Hardy McKenzie (Mack) Harrelson, Andrew Calvin (Andy) Goggans, and her beloved brother Archie Clifton (Bubby) Goggans Jr. Survived by husband Glenn H. Montgomery MD, daughters Cora Dianne Swicord (Grady) and Lisa Marie Nice (Pete). Sons Michael Glenn Montgomery (Cristina) and Lee Hillhouse Montgomery (Laura). Grandchildren Christopher Stender Swicord DMD, Melinda Grace (Minda) Dollins DMD (Chandler), Mary Elizabeth (Meta) Swicord, Brittany Marie Swicord, Cayman Adams-Nice, Alice Adams-Nice, Ashlyn Nicole Montgomery and Zachary Jon Montgomery. Mary Lee Goggans Montgomery, born March 13, 1934 in Phenix City, Alabama, peacefully passed away in Mountain Brook, Alabama. She was the daughter of Archie Clifton Goggans Sr. and Cora Lee Ensley Harrelson Goggans.

Mary graduated from Central High School in Phenix City, Alabama, and later attended the Jefferson Hillman Hospital School of Nursing (UAB School of Nursing). She dedicated her career to nursing, working at the Veterans Hospital in Birmingham and Lloyd Noland Hospital in Fairfield as a Registered Nurse.

On September 6, 1957, Mary married the love of her life, Glenn Hillhouse Montgomery MD, at the Chapel in the Pines Presbyterian Church in Bluff Park. Together, they built a beautiful life and family.

Mary was an active member of various service organizations in Birmingham, including Civiettes and the Jefferson County Alliance. She was a faithful member of the Ensley Highlands Presbyterian Church and South Highland Presbyterian Church since 1961.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Archie Clifton Goggans Sr. and Cora Lee Ensley Goggans, as well as her three half-brothers, John William Harrelson Sr., Hardy McKenzie (Mack) Harrelson, and Andrew Calvin (Andy) Goggans. She was also predeceased by her beloved brother, Archie Clifton (Bubby) Goggans Jr.

Mary is survived by her loving husband Glenn H. Montgomery MD and their children: Cora Dianne Swicord (Grady), Lisa Marie Nice (Pete), Michael Glenn Montgomery (Cristina), and Lee Hillhouse Montgomery (Laura). She will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren: Christopher Stender Swicord DMD, Melinda Grace (Minda) Dollins DMD (Chandler), Mary Elizabeth (Meta) Swicord, Brittany Marie Swicord, Cayman Adams-Nice, Alice Adams-Nice, Ashlyn Nicole Montgomery, and Zachary Jon Montgomery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to South Highland Presbyterian Church, The Presbyterian Home for Children, or the American Heart Association and American Cancer Society of Alabama.

Mary Goggans Montgomery will be deeply missed by all who knew her, her legacy of kindness and devotion forever imprinted in their hearts.
