Mary Goddard Franks, beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, friend and caregiver, passed away on April 13, 2024, at the age of 63. She was born on June 28, 1960, in Foley, AL, where she also resided.
Mary had a heart of gold and was known for her strength and independence. She found joy in being with her children and grandchildren, and cherished spending time with her family and friends. Mary had a deep love for her flowers, windchimes, and watching birds, especially hummingbirds and butterflies. She also had a collection of angel feathers, sea shells, and special rocks. Fried chicken, steak and lobster, and Pepsi were among her favorite foods, while country music, with George Strait being her favorite, provided the soundtrack to her life.
Mary's favorite place in the world was being around her loved ones, and she was a devoted NASCAR fan. She is survived by her children, Chason (Melissa) Franks and Carah (Jeremy) Lewis, as well as her beloved grandchildren, Braelynn, Emma, Colton, and Lily. She also leaves behind her mother, Nellie Topp, and siblings Henry (Maggie) Topp, William (Tammie) Topp, Judy Hamburg, and Tracy Bailey. Mary's family and friends lovingly referred to her as Momma, Nana, and Sissy Pooh.
Mary's proudest accomplishments were her children, and her caring nature made her an exceptional caregiver. She always had a listening ear and a kind word for those in need. Her favorite quote was "I love you to infinite ♾️."
Mary's passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew and loved her, but her memory will forever be cherished. She will be remembered for her big heart, love for family, and her unwavering independence. May she rest in peace.
