Mary Ellen (Reese) Groce, born on February 19, 1942, in Greer, SC, passed away on October 15, 2024, in Greenville, SC. Known affectionately as "Mish," Mary Ellen was a vibrant and loving spirit whose energy and kindness touched everyone she met.
Mary Ellen was the proud mother of William H. Groce IV and cherished her role as a grandmother to Evan Lyn Groce and Emma Alexis Groce, as well as a great-grandmother to Nora Christine Groce. She is survived by her brother, Marvin R. Reese Jr., and a host of friends and family who will remember her for her friendly, outspoken nature and her ability to make everyone feel special.
Mary Ellen had a passion for swimming, sunbathing, dancing, and music, often enjoying the sounds of Pharrell Williams. Her love for animals was evident, and she found joy in watching dog shows and caring for various pets throughout her life. A devoted English teacher, she inspired countless students with her enthusiasm for learning.
