Mary Elizabeth Sullivan (Kostuke) affectionately known as "Sugar," passed away peacefully on December 30, 2024, at the age of 82. Born on November 13, 1942, in Marianna, Arkansas, she spent her final years in sunny San Diego, California.
Mary was a devoted wife to her husband, Michael Kostuke Sr., with whom she shared 61 years of marriage. Together, they raised three loving children: Stephani, Michael Jr., and Jocelyn. Mary took great pride in her family, which expanded to include eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, who lovingly called her "Mimi."
A woman of many passions, Mary found joy in gardening, cooking, and cheering on her favorite sports teams, particularly the Las Vegas Raiders. She was an avid listener of Raider Nation Radio every day with her son, Mike Jr., and relished every moment spent watching all sports, especially football and Nascar. Her love for music was evident in her fondness for artists like Bob Seger, George Thorogood, and Bruce Springsteen.
Mary was known for her precious smile, loving personality, and warm hugs that made everyone feel at home. She cherished simple pleasures, including her favorite meal of cornbread, Southern and Mexican food. captivating stories of "All My Children"
and "Yellowstone." Her motto, "Life is a virtue," reflected her approach to living and loving unconditionally.
In addition to her immediate family, Mary is survived by her six sisters, with her younger sister Kaye being especially close to her. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her and experience her warmth.
Mary will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for her unwavering love and the joy she brought to everyone around her.
