Marvie Etta Rader, a beloved widow, mother, and Registered nurse, passed away on March 4, 2024, in Carrolton, Texas, at the age of 77. She was born on May 5, 1946, to the Late L.C. and Blondell Askew in Helena, Arkansas. Marvie grew up in Lexa, Arkansas and later moved to West Helena, Arkansas.

Marvie's faith played a significant role in her life. She confessed her hope and faith in Christ at an early age and was baptized at New Hope Missionary Baptist church in Lexa, Arkansas. She found comfort and guidance in Isaiah 11:1-5. Marvie joined Paul Ann church and was active until her passing.
Marvie married her beloved Michael Rader in September 1974, and they shared 47 years together. They were blessed with two children, Jonathan ( Midlothian, Tx) and Jennifer (Washington State).

Marvie was very active in her life group and women's Bible class where she formed deep connections with fellow believers. She treasured these relationships and the spiritual growth they provided.

Marvie had a passion for caring for others, which led her to a fulfilling career as a Registered nurse, where she enjoyed working with hospice patients as well as other disciplines. Her dedication and compassion touched the lives of many. She served diligently in the Air Force as a nurse from 1970-1989, after graduating from Dillard University.

In her free time, Marvie enjoyed indulging in her favorite hobbies, including cooking, playing the piano, reading, and exercising. She found solace and inspiration in the music of Terry Macalmon, Don Moen, and Mercy Culture Worship. Marvie's favorite You tube time was to listen to sermons by Gary Hamrick.

Marvie was preceded in death by her parents L.C. and Blondell Askew, brother Charles "Butch" Askew, and husband Michael Rader. She is survived by her children: Jonathan (Becky) Rader, Jennifer (Aaron) Burkman, grandchildren: Jordan Molina (Marco), Kennedy Burkman, Tyson Burkman, Devin Rader, Bailee Rader, Daelin Rader, Bryson Rader, great-grandchild: Carmine Molina, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Marvie's spirit, kindness, and unwavering faith will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of love, compassion, and dedication to others will continue to inspire future generations.

A memorial service will be held at PaulAnn Church in 2531 Smith Blvd, San Angelo, Tx on March 16, 2024 to celebrate Marvie's life and honor her memory.
