Marty knew everyone. He had a knack of knowing people every where we went. He was always quick to tell a story
He loved local government. Working to help better his community. He served several years as trustee in Lansing, Illinois before moving to Grant Park,Il. He then served several terms as trustee in Grant Park before becoming the Mayor.
Hanging out with his wife watching her show her horses. Enjoy a dinner out with friends and just spending time with his family

His Dad was transferred for work so he went to high school in England and started college in Switzerland. Always telling everyone his roommate was Sylvester Stallone. He had a great time during those years

Martin F. Roth was born on November 22, 1947, in Chicago, Illinois, and most recently resided in Grant Park, Illinois. He was known to friends and family as "Marty," a man with a huge gregarious personality and an extraordinary knack for making connections. Martin had a remarkable ability to know people everywhere he went, often captivating audiences with his engaging stories.
A passionate community leader, Martin dedicated many years to local government, serving as a trustee in both Lansing and Grant Park, where he later became the Mayor. He was committed to improving his community and took great pride in his contributions.
In addition to his public service, Martin was an avid enthusiast of hunting, target shooting, and vintage cars. He had a special love for NRHA reining horse shows, where he enjoyed spending time watching his wife, Becky Kalvelage-Roth, showcase her horses. Martin treasured moments spent with family and friends, whether it was enjoying a really good steak and a cocktail or simply relaxing and sharing laughter.
Born to Lillie Uebler-Roth and Martin Roth, he was raised with a love for animals, which included dogs, cats, and horses. He had a fondness for Northern Wisconsin, which he considered his favorite place in the world. His adventurous spirit also took him abroad during his youth, attending high school in England and starting college in Switzerland, where he humorously boasted about his roommate being Sylvester Stallone.
Martin’s proudest achievement was his family, whom he cherished deeply. He is survived by his loving wife, Becky, and will be remembered for his warmth, kindness, and the lasting impact he had on those fortunate enough to know him.
