Marla Patrice Peterson, 69, passed away on October 12, 2024, in Schaumburg, IL. Born on September 25, 1955, Marla was known for her caring and loving nature, always making an effort to ensure everyone felt welcome. She was famously regarded as everyone's number one fan, a testament to her supportive and enthusiastic spirit.

Marla's early education was completed at Luther North, and she launched her professional journey at Flying Tigers at O'Hare Field as a traffic agent in 1978. Her career continued with FedEx following their merger in 1989, where she dedicated many years of service.

Her personal life was enriched by her faith, and she was an active member of the Lord of Life Lutheran Church. Marla's hobbies included watching football, traveling, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed visiting various sports venues, spending time at the racetrack, and relaxing at her condo in Cape Coral, Florida.

Marla leaves behind a loving family: her husband of 38 years, William; her children, Jacqueline (Joseph), William III, Allison, and David; her sister, Cindy (James) Fitzgerald; and her grandchildren, Joseph, Jenna, and June. She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Patricia.

A Memorial Service will be held at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 119 W. Wise Road, Schaumburg, IL, at 11:00 a.m., followed by a Celebration of Life at Chandler's Chophouse, 401 N. Roselle Road, Schaumburg, IL, at 2:00 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend both and/or either gatherings to honor Marla's memory.
