Playing guitar, pickleball, boating, riding his motorcycle, grilling and tinkering in the yard. He loved traveling with his family and attending his children’s sporting events.
Served a life of service to his country and his community, as an Army Reservist being honorably discharged from 1984-1990. He began his career caring for adults with developmental disabilities, empowering them to make their dreams of independence a reality, by working for the ARC and then opening up Brown’s Support and Services, a successful business since 2001. Mark was a member, Deacon and director of the Mass Choir at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, prior to his conversion to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where he served on the High Council and as a Sunday School teacher.
Spending time with his family and mentoring and coaching his children’s athletic activities.
Mark is survived by his wife Dara K. (Pearson) Brown of 28 years. His children Kendra Brown (Tate Green), Stacy Brown, Marchele Brown (Trell Rollins), Brock Gibson (Danielle Gibson), Aniya Brown, Mackenzie Brown and Mark Brown II, his grandchildren: Keazia Bass, Parys Bass, Brianna Bass, Antione Clark, Jayon Clark, Londyn Hines, Ke’Mari Hines, Ashlyn and Ashton Rollins, Paizlee Rae-Gibson, Madyline Gibson, Braxton and Braylon Gibson and Great-Grandchild: Trust Martin. Sisters, Thressa Brown Lewis and Terri Dallas (Wade) and Brothers, Henry Bell (Dorothy), Clay Beaufort, and dearest cousin John Thornton (Linda). Mark was welcomed to Heaven by his loving parents, Eddie and Alma Brown, his infant son, Mark Brown, Jr., his mother-in-law Sondra Cornett, brothers-in-law, Daniel and Dana Pearson, nephews, Cary and Cameron Neptune, as well as many other beloved friends and consumers, he also considered family. Mark will be deeply missed by all those that knew him, who he served and especially his extended family and friends.
Mark passed away at home with his wife of 28 years Dara Brown, at his side. Mark left a legacy of compassion and love to the many people he served throughout his lifetime, especially his beloved family.
Mark Anthony Brown, a dedicated husband, father, and servant of the community, passed away on July 6, 2024, at his home in Palatka, FL, with his loving wife of 28 years, Dara Brown, by his side. He was born on June 19, 1962, in Palatka, FL, to his parents Eddie and Alma Brown.
Mark led a life of service, beginning with his honorable discharge from the Army Reserves, where he served from 1984 to 1990. He then dedicated himself to caring for adults with developmental disabilities, empowering them to achieve independence. He worked for the ARC and later established his successful business, Brown's Support and Services, in 2001.
A man of many talents and interests, Mark enjoyed playing guitar, pickleball, boating, riding his motorcycle, grilling, and tinkering in the yard. He cherished spending time with his family and was often seen attending his children's sporting events. Mark's love for his family extended to mentoring and coaching his children's athletic activities.
Mark was a former member of the Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as a member, Deacon, and director of the Mass Choir. He later converted to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where he continued his service as a member of the High Council and a Sunday School teacher.
Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Dara K. (Pearson) Brown, and their children Keondra Brown (Tate Green), Stacy Brown, Marchele Rollins (Trell), Brock Gibson (Donielle), Aniya Brown, Mackenzie Brown, and Mark Brown II. Mark also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Keazia, Parys and Brianna Bass, Antoine and Jayon Clark, Londyn and Ke'Mari Hines, Ashlyn and Ashton Rollins, Paizlee Rea-Gibson, Madyline Gibson, Braxton and Braylon Gibson, and great-grandchild Trust Martin. He is survived by his sisters Thressa Brown Lewis and Terri Dallas (Wade), brothers Henry Bell (Dorothy) and Clay Beauford, as well as his dearest cousin John Thornton (Linda).
Mark was reunited in heaven with his parents, Eddie and Alma Brown, his infant son Mark Brown Jr., his mother-in-law Sondra Cornett, brothers-in-law Daniel and Dana Pearson, and nephews Cary and Cameron Neptune, among other beloved friends and consumers he considered family.
Mark's compassion, love, and dedication to serving others will be deeply missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing him, including his extended family and friends. His legacy of selflessness will continue to inspire and impact those he touched throughout his lifetime.
Services for Mark will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1414 Husson Avenue, Palatka, FL 32177. Friends will be received for visitation at 11:00, with services beginning at 12:00.
