Marie M. Bennett, born on June 2, 1958, in Philadelphia, PA, passed away suddenly on September 25, 2024, in her beloved city. She was a dedicated homemaker and the heart of her family, married to the love of her life, Butch, for an incredible 46 years, and together for 53 years. Marie was a proud and nurturing mother to her four children: Billy, Tara, Samantha, and Ashley, and a devoted grandmother to Ryan and Tiffany. She also cherished her role as “Re-Re” to Joey Flanagan, whom she affectionately considered her fifth child.
Marie had a remarkable spirit, often referred to as "Superwoman" by those who knew her. She faced numerous health challenges throughout her life but consistently fought through them with resilience and grace. Her infectious smile and warm heart could light up any room, making her a natural source of joy and inspiration for her family and friends.
Her favorite pastimes included enjoying family parties, visiting the casino, and cheering on Philly sports teams with her loved ones. She frequently shared her pride in her family, always eager to brag about her children and grandchildren.
Marie is survived by her beloved husband, Butch, her children, and her grandchildren. She also leaves behind her sisters, Jean Yost and Monica Giddings. Her life motto, “I’ve Got This,” embodied her strength and determination, leaving a lasting legacy of love and resilience for all who knew her. Marie M. Bennett will be deeply missed and forever remembered as a warrior and a beacon of light in the lives of those she touched.
