Margaret Louise Long, born on August 24, 1963, in Chandler, Oklahoma, passed away on August 31, 2024, in Cushing, Oklahoma. Margaret was a vibrant and loving individual who found joy in the simplest pleasures of life, from gambling at the casino and playing games on her phone to soaking up the sun and cherishing moments with her beloved family and friends.
Margaret was the proud mother of five children: Michelle Kitchens and her husband David of Oklahoma City, Heather Zinni and her husband Brandon of Sweetwater, Texas, Jerica Long of Cushing, Amy Long of Oklahoma City, and Jerry Long and his fiancée Samantha Beeler of Perkins. She also leaves behind her son Kaleb McKellar of Mannford, Oklahoma, and her cherished grandchildren: Stormi, Dylan, Braden, Rylan, Eithen, Eli, and Kamden.
A lover of good food, Margaret enjoyed taco salad, fried chicken, and mashed potatoes, with a special fondness for her "foldover" sandwiches. She had a musical soul, often swaying to the tunes of George Strait and The Judds, and had a particular affinity for the classic songs, including "Don't Bring Me Down." Her love for television was evident, as she would insist that if you didn't have ME TV, you truly had nothing, favoring shows like Gunsmoke, The Andy Griffith Show, and The Rifleman.
Margaret's generous spirit was a testament to her character; she would selflessly give to others, often putting their needs before her own, even if it meant facing difficulties herself. She is survived by her beloved parents, Marvin and Mary Simon, along with her sisters Marcella Channon and Mary Rains, and several nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family.
Margaret’s legacy will live on in the hearts of those she touched, as she leaves behind a family who is forever proud of her unwavering love and dedication. Her zest for life and caring nature will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
