Obituary

Margaret "Maggie" Joy Bohning, 75, passed away on June 11, 2024, in Phoenix, Arizona. Born on June 8, 1949, in Beatrice, Nebraska, to Ethel and Frank Bohning, Sr., Maggie was a beacon of kindness and love throughout her life.

Maggie's career was as diverse as it was impactful. She worked as an EMT in Ottawa, Kansas, before becoming a top salesperson at Luce Press Clipping Service and Lehi Valley Trading Company. Her skills in communication and empathy also led her to be an amazing tarot card reader at The Psychic Library. Maggie's educational journey began at Hanover Elementary School and culminated with a BGS in Psychology from the University of Kansas.

Her personal interests included learning French, having afternoon tea, and she was a lifelong learner, always eager to expand her knowledge and experience.

Maggie was a dedicated mother and grandmother, survived by her daughters, Jeni Dodd (Robert Tracy) of New York City and Krystal Gallup of San Tan, Arizona; and son, Kurtis Dodd of Phoenix, Arizona. She also leaves behind grandsons, Dylan Anderson of Mesa, AZ, and Dustin Anderson (Leitha White) and their three children of Horton, KS; nephews, Scott (Lynn LaVoy), Jeff (Mary), Gregg (Melanie), and Gary Bohning; and nieces, Sondra Pollock (Greg) and Elizabeth Frese (Markus). Maggie was preceded in death by her parents, brother Frank Bohning, Jr., granddaughter Amanda Anderson, and sisters-in-law Doris, Judy, and MaryAnn Bohning. Her brother, Jay, passed following her death.

Maggie also found joy in her dogs and was an inspiration for books by author Jody Sharpe. Her warmth and generosity touched everyone she met, making her not only a cherished friend but an angel to those lucky enough to know her.

An afternoon tea to share stories and celebrate Maggie's life will be held in Phoenix on July 28, 2024. A memorial service and interment will follow in Hanover, Kansas, on September 14, 2024, where her remains will be laid to rest and her headstone placed, honoring a life beautifully lived.
