Marcus Brett Artis, born on October 25, 1974, in Denver, Colorado, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2024, in Royse City, Texas. He was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, known affectionately as the "Grill Father" and "Chef" among those who cherished him.

A passionate individual, Marcus devoted his life to his family, friends, and faith. He was a proud father to three children: Keith Artis, 30, in Asheville, North Carolina; Koryn Artis, 24, in Houston, Texas; and Quincy Artis, 18, in Royse City, Texas. He is also survived by his loving mother, Lenora Artis, and his brother, Felix Vaughn.

Marcus was a dedicated professional, initially working as a dental lab technician and coordinator at the University of Colorado School of Dentistry before pursuing his true passion for cooking. He earned an Associate of Culinary Science from Johnson and Wales University, where he honed his skills to become a professional chef. The aroma of wood and charcoal, along with the sound of music filling the air, defined many joyful gatherings where he delighted his loved ones with his renowned BBQ.

Much love to all who carry his memory forward.
