Marcia James, lovingly known as a dedicated teacher and caring family matriarch, passed away on May 12, 2024, at the age of 90. Born on November 21, 1933, in Hamilton, Marcia made Los Angeles her home in recent years.

Marcia had a zest for life and enjoyed pursuing her favorite hobbies, including cooking, gardening, and traveling. She was a true food enthusiast, always delighting her loved ones with delicious creations from her kitchen. Her green thumb was evident in her vibrant garden, which brought her great joy and provided a serene sanctuary.

Marcia's passion for education led her to a successful career with the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD). Her dedication and commitment to her students earned her the esteemed title of Teacher of the Year. Marcia's educational journey began at Central State College and culminated with her graduation from The Ohio State University.

Marcia was married to her beloved husband, Quinton, who stood by her side through thick and thin. Together, they created a loving and nurturing environment for their two daughters, Karen and Susan. Marcia was an adoring mother, always supporting and encouraging her children in their pursuits. Her daughters and their families, including grandchildren Alana, Lauren, and Drake, brought immeasurable joy to Marcia's life.
