Diana Slocum of 56 years
Lynn Slocum, affectionately known as Butch, passed away on July 5, 2024, at the age of 75. He was born on September 22, 1948, in Bunkie, Louisiana, and had resided in Bayhills for the majority of his life.
Lynn was a self-employed residential contractor for an incredible 46 years. He possessed a remarkable skill for fixing just about anything and had a superpower for customizing parts and tools to make things easier. Lynn's dedication to his work was admired by all who knew him.
Outside of work, Lynn had several passions that brought him joy. He loved spending time in his garden, hunting, fishing, and working in his shop. These were the places he felt most at peace and alive. Lynn was an avid fan of LSU and Saints football and enjoyed watching his favorite TV show, Fox News.
Family was everything to Lynn, and he loved nothing more than spending time outside playing with his grandkids and great-grandkids. He cherished every moment with them and created countless beautiful memories.
Lynn is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Diana Slocum, his children Kerin Slocum Williamson, Renee Slocum Whittington, and Jacob Slocum, his sister Katy Slocum, his grandchildren Ashley Pepper, Khaki Jones, Kaleb Williamson, Austin Jones, and Jared Williamson, and his great-grandchildren Mya, Zeathen, Ryder, Grasyn, Owen, Oliver, Tatum, Brynleigh, Alayna, and Chole.
He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched. Lynn's courage and determination left an indelible mark on everyone who knew him. May he rest in peace knowing he made a lasting impact on the lives of those around him.
