Lynda Mae Hornick, lovingly known as Linda Lou, passed away on June 10, 2024, one day shy of her 63rd birthday. She was born on June 11, 1961, in Dayton, Ohio, and had been residing in Xenia, Ohio.
Lynda led a life filled with simple pleasures and cherished moments. She found solace in sitting by the back door, listening to her favorite records and admiring the beauty of nature. Connecting with loved ones through Facebook brought her immense joy, and she was an avid fan of HGTV shows. Lynda's pride and joy were her beautiful flowers, which she considered her prized possessions. Spending time on her back deck, observing wildlife and birds, brought her a sense of peace and tranquility.
When it came to food, Lynda's favorite indulgence was tacos and margaritas, a combination that always brought a smile to her face. However, nothing brought her more happiness than her three beloved grandchildren, Christian Hebel, Hunter Rosell, and Jordan Moore.
Throughout her life, Lynda had a deep affection for pugs, and her love for them was well-known among family and friends. She always had a special place in her heart for these adorable companions.
Lynda was preceded in death by her siblings James and Carolyn. She is survived by her mother Nadine Robinson and siblings Lisa Howard, Dorothy Rader, and Robert Robinson.
For 23 years, Lynda worked as a waitress at Sugar Valley Country Club, where her warm and friendly demeanor made her beloved by both coworkers and patrons.
Her proudest accomplishments were undoubtedly becoming a mother and a grandmother. Lynda's love for her children, Melissa "Missy" Moore (Hornick) and Christopher Bishop, knew no bounds. She adored her grandchildren and treasured every moment spent with them.
Lynda was married to Michael Hornick on July 17, 1988, and their union was filled with love and devotion.
In memory of Lynda Mae Hornick, her family kindly requests that instead of regular flowers, perennial plants be offered as a tribute to create a forever garden in her honor.
Lynda will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Her warmth, kindness, and love for her family will forever be etched in their hearts.
Mom's celebration of life will be June 23rd from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Xenia elks Lodge.
Come and celebrate the life of Linda Hornick. As everyone knows that she would want one hell of a party and not a teary-eye in the room. In lieu of normal flowers, we asked for perennials to be able to plant outside for her forever garden. There will be a taco truck there because everyone knew that was her favorite food. Possible live band. Also drinks will be served at the bar.
