Lyla was quite upbeat, friendly, outgoing and social. She loved spending time with family and friends.

Lyla loved Mountair Christian Church. She began attending in 1956. For over sixty years it was her stability and security. It was a place full of support ,love, and hugs. I quote Lyla: "a portion of our dreams, our children -- all those things of which life is woven -- happiness, joy, sorrow have been shared here."
Throughout her life Lyla worked both as an accountant and Real Estate Agent. She was still doing business and personal income taxes for clients into her eighties.
Lyla loved her cats. Some of her favorites over the years included Princess, Dolly, Pretty Boy, and Buster.
Lyla is survived by her three children: William, Colleen, and Cynthia She was the proud Grandmother of: David, Kimberly, Andrew, Rebecca, Jodi, Holly and Shannon. She has eight great grand children.

Lyla traveled all over the world. Her favorite places to travel were the Holy Lands, Egypt and Turkey.

Lyla was in a long term relationship with Dale Thompson after her divorce from Wayne Delano. She developed long lasting fond attachments to Dale's children and grandchildren.
Lyla Marie DeLano, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on February 7, 2024, at the age of 98. She was born on December 22, 1925, in Sanford, CO, but spent the majority of her adult life in Denver, CO. She resided close to her son in Port Orange, FL. the last several years of her life.
Lyla was a woman of many passions. She found joy in gardening, traveling, and reading. Her lively and outgoing personality made her a joy to be around, and she cherished spending time with her family and friends.
In her free time, Lyla also enjoyed watching TV shows such as The World News and The Lawrence Welk Show. She was known for her love for Mountair Christian Church, where she found stability, support, and love for over sixty years. It was a place that held a special place in her heart, filled with cherished memories and shared experiences.
Throughout her life, Lyla had a successful career as both an accountant and a real estate agent. Even into her eighties, she continued to assist clients with their business and personal income taxes.
Lyla had a soft spot for cats and had many cherished feline companions over the years, including Princess, Dolly, Pretty Boy, and Buster. She adored her three children, William, Colleen, and Cynthia, and was a proud grandmother to David, Kimberly, Andrew, Rebecca, Jodi, Holly, and Shannon. She leaves behind eight great-grandchildren who will forever cherish her memory.
Lyla had a love for creating a beautiful home and tending to her garden, where she would often entertain her loved ones. She also had a passion for traveling, with her favorite destinations being the Holy Lands, Egypt, and Turkey.
Lyla Marie DeLano was the daughter of Minnie Alice Creason and Lewis Marcus Miller. She was married to Wayne S. DeLano, a general contractor, from 1946 to 1973.
