Lydia was also a member of the U.S. Army in 1943 and proudly served for 10 years before becoming a high school teacher where she taught for over 25 years. After retirement from the military Lydia became a high school math teacher spending 25 years teaching high school. She was preceded in death by her son's Mack Graham, Margaret Thompson, Hayward Graham jr, Linail Graham and husband Hayward Graham Sr.
