Luke Martinez, born on June 20, 2007, in Mossel Bay, South Africa, passed away on July 3, 2024, in his hometown. Luke was a vibrant and creative soul, known for his passion for skateboarding at night and making music. He was a dedicated student, consistently ranking in the Top 10 for English Home Language every term.
Luke had a unique palate, always saying yes to ramen noodles and sushi, and he had a quirky habit of eating bread with his noodles. He found joy in listening to his favorite band, Arctic Monkeys, and enjoyed watching "Bojack Horseman," which resonated deeply with his introspective nature. Soccer and ice hockey were his preferred sports, and he often spent time discussing games with his friends.
Luke was in a loving relationship with Loui-Ann Brummer, and he cherished his younger sister and his cat, Star, more than anything. His favorite place in the world was Knysna, where he enjoyed the beauty of nature and the tranquility it offered.
Known affectionately as Lukey or Starboy, Luke lived by the motto: “I’d rather have loyalty than love because love really don’t mean jack, love is just a feeling you could love somebody just by being attached, Loyalty is an action, you can love or hate me and still have my back.” His spirit and creativity will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
We'll plant real trees for you in Luke's memory and display your contribution forever.
