Lori never met a stranger. She greeted everyone with warmth, a smile, and laughter; she left an impression on anyone who was lucky enough to meet her. Many came to know her as “mom,” an innate quality she seemingly had since birth, she was full of compassion and was always one to put others before herself.

Lorita (affectonately known as Lori) Kaye Davis, 60, left us far too soon on Thursday, October 24th, 2024.
Lori was born on February 12,1964 in Grand Forks, North Dakota to parents: John and Marjorie (Alwin) Davis. She was the third of six siblings: three sisters and two brothers. It’s where she spent the first 21 years of her life: Her time on the farm developed her love for gardening/her green thumb and her lifelong affinity for pigs. It’s where she married her first husband, Mike Sunderman, and gave birth to their daughter, Rachel and son, Jeffrey.
In 1985 Lori and her family moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming, where she married twice and divorced three times. It was there she earned her Associate Degree in Nursing through Laramie County Community College, raised her kids/step kids, and worked two jobs at a time to support her family. Some of her jobs included: waitressing, security, aide for adults with disabilities, and nursing at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center.
In 2005 Lori moved to the greater Denver area where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Metro State University. She worked as an ER and psych nurse at various hospitals. In 2013 she earned the best title of all: grandma. And in 2015 she married Mike Lippert.
Lori never met a stranger. She greeted everyone with warmth, a smile, and laughter; she left an impression on anyone who was lucky enough to meet her. Many came to know her as “mom,” an innate quality she seemingly had since birth, she was full of compassion and was always one to put others before herself.
Time spent with family and especially her granddaughter, “Little One” or “Miss Zoey,” was something that always brought Lori great joy. They’d bake, she’d sing and cuddle with Zoey, grinning ear to ear every step of the way.
You would often find Lori dressed in Minnesota Vikings apparel; like many things in her life the Vikings brought more heartache than joy, but Lori remained loyal and steadfast in her dedication, she handled hardships with grace and positivity.
Lori loved all animals and was particularly fond of basset hounds; she hadn’t been without one the last 20 years. She loved collecting pigs and Eeyore memorabilia. Her house was full of plants and her garden full of food; if you ever stopped by you were fed until you could eat no more.
Lori is survived by her husband, Mike Lippert; her mother, Marjorie Davis; four siblings: John (Kim) Davis, Paul (Lori) Davis, Roxanne (Chill) Yee, and Michelle Azling; two half-siblings: Janelle (Donald) Doyle, and Joan (Erick) Houde; her children, Rachel (Brian) Sunderman, and Jeffrey Sunderman; and her granddaughter Zoey Steenson.
Lori was preceded in death by her father, John Davis and sister, Suzy Davis.
