Survivor
Lora Mae Thompson, born on October 31, 1948, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2022. Lora was a devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished grandmother, known affectionately as "Mimi" by her grandchildren. She was married to her beloved husband, Darrell, for 54 wonderful years, a testament to their enduring love and partnership.
Lora was the heart and soul of her family, finding joy in crocheting and sharing meals together. She was an excellent cook, always ready to whip up something delicious for her loved ones. A fan of music, she particularly adored Elvis.
Her professional life included being the brains behind the operation at Pete’s Garage, where her organizational skills shone. Lora took pride in her family, which included her daughters, Shellea Josey and Becky and Wade Shook and her four grandchildren: Brett Mussyal, Alexis Vadnais, Ryan Hall, and Dylan Hall, as well as her great-granddaughter, Korra Gershon. She also inspired many nieces and nephews and close friends with her warmth and kindness.
Lora had a special fondness for Colorado, where she and Darrell loved to spend time together, creating lasting memories. Her favorite TV show, Survivor, mirrored her adventurous spirit and love for competition. She was known for her playful saying, “Just wait til your dad get home when her daughters were acting up.
Grew up attending the Church of the Nazarene. She will be remembered for her generous heart, always willing to help those in need, and for the unconditional love she shared with her family. Her legacy of kindness and joy will continue to inspire all who knew her.
