On Saturday August 24, 2024 at 1:08 AM. Lizzie Thelma Bell Tate stepped across the threshold we call death, but it was only a step into another room of our father's house.
Lizzie Thelma Bell Tate affectionately known as "Sugar" was born June 17, 1924 to the union of Willie and Clara Bell in Reilly Blairstown with a total of 16 siblings which included her twin Emma she accepted Christ at a early age and was baptized at New Hope Baptist Church in Blairstown, under the leadership of the late Rev. Phillips, she then became a member of Cypress Grove Baptist Church under the leadership pf the late Rev. Sanders where she served as head usher of the usher board. She later join Mount Wade Baptist Church in Cheneyville under the leadership of her nephew Bishop Willie Shavers Jr. she worked numerous jobs, housekeeping, cafe, and laundry worker.
She was united in holy matrimony to Willis Tate and within that union 6 sons and 1 daughter was born. She leaves to cherish her precious memories to one son James Tate and devoted daughter Frances Jackson, 22 grandchildren , 58 plus great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and one daughter-in-law Edna Tate.
Lizzie was preceded in death by Husband Willis Tate, parents Willie and Clara Bell, children Percy Lee, Sterling, Willie Gilbert, Robert and Donald Tate, 9 brothers, 7 sisters, 2 grandsons and 2 great grandchildren.
LIzzie was a outgoing person, so full of life, a joy to be around and love to play spade but hated to lose. She loved her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren unconditionally, they were the apple of her eye.
