Lizette Burger Roos was born on June 8, 1968, in Port Elizabeth Central, Gqeberha, South Africa. She spent her later years in Pretoria, where her passion for helping others flourished. Lizette was known for her unwavering dedication to the community, volunteering for 17 organizations while maintaining her role in a single profession that spanned her impressive career. A qualified lecturer in firearms, station work, and first aid, she also held qualifications as an intermediate life support medic and advanced firefighter.

Lizette's love for people shone through in all aspects of her life. Her superpower was her remarkable ability to care for others, often giving more of herself than she did for her own needs. With a heart as vast as the earth, she was a guiding light for many, earning the affectionate nickname "Bizzi Lizzi" from her colleagues and "Mamma" from her beloved sons, Johann and Stefan, who were her greatest blessings. She was also known as "Zoei" to her father, Sakkie.

An avid reader and traveler, Lizette cherished her time in Scotland, where she felt most at home. She found joy in cultivating her vegetable garden and was known for her love of cycling and gymnastics. Music was a significant part of her life; she played guitar in a band and enjoyed all genres except opera, often sharing her passion for music through singing. Lizette believed in adding value to her life and the lives of others, often quoting, "Name tag must face forward, don't step on the cat's tail."
