Lionel Leroy Hamon, affectionately known as Pete, passed away on September 18, 2024, at the age of 71. Born on July 31, 1953, in Oklahoma City, OK, he spent his later years in Livingston, TX, where he became a cherished member of the community.
Lionel was a devoted father to his two children, Sara Curoe and Lionel Hamon Jr. He took immense pride in his family, especially in his role as a grandfather to his beloved grandson, Atticus, who brought him great joy. Lionel's ex-wife, Sheila Field, with whom he shared a decade of marriage, also remains a significant part of his legacy.
A talented plumber and enthusiastic drummer, Lionel was known for his bold, brave, and sometimes stern personality. He had a passion for fixing old cars and found comfort in the rhythms of jazz music, which filled his home with life. His love for Cajun food was matched only by his fondness for spending weekends fishing at his favorite local spot, where he created lasting memories with family.
Those who knew Lionel would often recall his favorite saying, "If it ain't broken, don't fix it," which reflected his straightforward approach to life. He was always the life of the party, able to lift spirits even when he faced his own challenges, and offered a shoulder to lean on for those who needed support.
Lionel is survived by his daughter Sara, her son Atticus, and his son Lionel Hamon Jr., along with his ex-wife Sheila. His legacy of love, laughter, and resilience will continue to resonate in the hearts of all who knew him.
Come out to celebrate Lionel as he would have wanted. Laughter & joy although he is gone he will not be forgotten.
