Linda Patricia Braem, born in Saskatoon and most recently residing in Kamloops, will be remembered as a deeply creative, compassionate, and gentle soul who found extraordinary beauty in the ordinary moments of life.

Linda Braem, (Formerly Linda Patricia Wright) was previous wife to Robert Harris Braem, and mother to sole daughter, Boni-Lin Braem.

Linda approached the world with an artist’s eye and a caring heart. She loved art, photography, home decorating, gardening, and rock hounding — always searching for hidden beauty, whether in nature, a treasured stone, a blooming flower, or a perfectly captured photograph. She had a rare gift for noticing the small wonders that many people overlook, and she inspired others to slow down and appreciate life’s simple joys.

She was the proud creator of New Beginnings Arts and Craft Supplies in Ganges, on Salt Spring Island during the late 1980s and early 1990s, where her creativity and passion for community touched many lives. Linda believed in encouraging imagination and self-expression in others, and her warmth made her business feel like home to many who visited.

Later in life, Linda pursued higher education as an adult learner at Thompson Rivers University, studying toward a Bachelor of Arts degree — a testament to her lifelong curiosity, courage, and belief that it is never too late to grow and learn.

Linda’s heart belonged not only to people but also to animals. She adored cats and somehow became beloved by not only her own pets, but by much of the neighborhood feline community as well. She also shared a special bond with her loyal Black Lab/German Shepherd companion, Robin.

She found happiness in many simple pleasures: vanilla ice cream, Japanese food, pizza nights, music that filled the soul, and the peaceful beauty of Salt Spring Island — her favorite place in the world. The voices of Whitney Houston, Lionel Richie, Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, and Billy Ocean often provided the soundtrack to her life.

Above all else, Linda loved her daughter, Boni-Lin, fiercely and unconditionally. Her love, wisdom, creativity, and gentle spirit will continue to live on through the countless memories shared together.

Linda will be remembered for her kindness, her artistic soul, her resilience, and her ability to help others see beauty in everyday life. Though deeply missed, her light remains in every sunset admired, every flower planted, every piece of art created, and every quiet moment where beauty is found in simplicity.

Her memory will forever be cherished by family, friends, neighbors, and all whose lives she touched.
