Obituary

Liam "Lee" Braam, 18

February 1, 2007 – April 10, 2025

With heavy hearts and profound sorrow, we announce the passing of Liam “Lee” Braam on April 10, 2025, in Amsterdam, Netherlands, at the age of 18. His life was tragically cut short following a car accident while visiting family abroad. Though he initially stabilized after receiving treatment, Liam passed peacefully later that week.

Born on February 1, 2007, in Los Angeles, California, Liam was a bright light from the very beginning. He grew up surrounded by love and support from his parents, Jane and Henry Braam, and his younger sister Leia Braam. His extended family—including grandparents and other relatives—reside in Amsterdam, where he was visiting at the time of his passing.

Liam’s life was marked by compassion, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to others. Despite moving across several school districts during his adolescent years, he remained steadfast in his academic pursuits. His dedication earned him numerous awards for both academic excellence and extracurricular involvement. Among these honors was the prestigious Gold President’s Volunteer Service Award—recognition for the many hours he devoted to volunteering at a local seniors retirement home.

A kindred soul with a heart full of grace, Liam had a unique ability to sense when someone needed comfort or encouragement. He offered his presence with quiet strength and genuine care—always patient, always loving. Those who knew him remember his soft-spoken nature paired with an unshakable resolve when it came to standing up for what he believed in.

Music played a central role in Liam’s life. From an early age, he found joy in rhythm and melody—volunteering every Sunday at church as a drummer on the praise team and performing with his school’s symphonic orchestra. Whether behind a drum set or holding a microphone, Liam poured his heart into every note.

He also thrived in athletics. A dedicated member of both the swimming and cross-country teams at school, Liam embraced physical challenges with enthusiasm and discipline. His teammates admired not only his performance but also his sportsmanship and camaraderie.

Faith was the cornerstone of Liam’s life. Raised in a Christian church from birth, he developed a deep spiritual connection that guided him through every chapter of his journey. He loved God like a second father and served faithfully within his church community—living out his beliefs through action as much as word.

Liam's passing has left an immeasurable void in the lives of those who loved him: as a son whose warmth filled every room; as a brother whose laughter brought joy; as a boyfriend whose affection healed wounds; as a friend whose loyalty never wavered; and as someone whose love touched hearts deeply and sincerely.

Though we mourn this devastating loss, we take solace in knowing that Liam is now reunited with God in Heaven—a place where peace surrounds him eternally. He was truly an angel among us during his time on Earth—and now he watches over us from above.

May Liam’s memory be eternal and may it bring comfort to all who were blessed to know him.
