Lewis Robert Bruno Jr., lovingly known as Lew, passed away on July 20, 2024, at the age of 77. He was born on June 11, 1947, in Hopatcong, NJ, and had most recently resided in Allen, TX.
Lew had a zest for life and a heart of gold. He enjoyed spending time with his family, whom he loved more than anything. Lew's favorite pastimes included painting, gathering with friends and family, and volunteering for various causes. He had an insatiable appetite for all types of food and was a dedicated Giants fan.
In his professional life, Lew served in the Army from 1966 to 1977 and later achieved a successful career in management as a Senior Vice President of Procurement. He lived by the motto "Work hard and play harder" and believed in treating others as they treated him. His favorite saying was "Live, laugh, and love."
Lew's proudest accomplishments were his contributions to the VFW and American Legions, where he dedicated his time and energy to support fellow veterans. He was a pillar of strength and a compassionate leader who always extended a helping hand to those in need.
Lew is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Debby Bruno. He also leaves behind his children Donna, Tracey, Tina, Bobby, and Julie, as well as grandchildren Blake, Garrett, Brianna, Julian, Gavin, Amara, and Arriana. His great-grandchildren Kaylee, Vivianna, Riley, JB, Lil Louie, Zola, and Athena brought him immense joy.
He is also survived by his sister Rosanne and brothers Frank and Joey. Lew's defining personality traits included his kind and compassionate nature, along with an indomitable spirit. He impacted the lives of many through his leadership and unwavering care for others.
Lew will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his legacy will live on. He was a man of faith, a proud Catholic, and an active member of his community. His memory will forever be cherished by those whose lives he touched, and his spirit will continue to inspire others to live life to the fullest and love without limits.
