Lewis Collins, affectionately known as Lewey, passed away on April 3, 2024, at the age of 86. He was born on February 13, 1938, in Knoxville, Tennessee, the place he called home throughout his life.
Lewey was a hardworking individual who dedicated 47 years of his life as a truck driver. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, which included camping, fishing, hunting, and spending quality time with his beloved family. His favorite motto was, "Never let life push you down," a testament to his resilience and positive outlook.
Lewey's proudest accomplishments were his children and grandchildren. He was married to his loving spouse Joanna on May 21, 1959, and together they raised three sons: Tommy and Janice Collins of Knoxville, Tennessee, Adam and Mary Collins of Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Taylor and Stacy of Middle River, Maryland. He is also survived by two daughters: Amy and Mark Carter of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Heather and Donald of Detroit, Michigan.
In addition to his immediate family, Lewey is survived by three brothers named Donald, Gerald, and Scott. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
As we say goodbye to Lewey, let us remember his unwavering spirit, his love for his family, and the joy he brought to those around him. May he rest in peace, forever cherished in our hearts.
Services will be held Monday, April 8, 2024 at 11:00 AM
